Think Children Welcomes New Charity Patron

We are absolutely delighted to welcome our new charity patron, professional footballer, Patrick Bamford. Patrick started out at Nottingham Forest at eight years old, previously playing football for local teams Muskham Cougars and Newark Town. At 18, he was sold to Chelsea for £1.5 million after playing two games for the first team and scoring 11 goals in 3 games in an FA Youth Cup. Patrick has since played for MK Dons, Derby County, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough, where he scored 19 goals and won championship player of the year. He is currently seeing out the season on loan at Norwich. Patrick said of his new patronship for Think Children: “I am thrilled to be connected with such a fantastic charity from my home town. I’m an ambitious 22 year old from Newark who is currently pursuing my life-long dream of playing professional football and would like to be an inspiration to local children to pursue and achieve their own dreams."
