Think Children has linked its fundraising activities with four other local children's charities
In October 2012, Think Children joined forces with three other fantastic local children’s charities; Children's Bereavement Centre, Homestart Newark and CASY - for local fundraising events. This fundraising collaboration is now called the Newark and Sherwood Children’s Charities Group.
Each of the four charities recognised that together they were much more effective at community fundraising events than each would be on their own. Events so far have included:-
- ‘Prison Break’- saw local personalities locked up in Newark’s old police cells where they had to raise ‘bail money’ in order to be released! Over £8,000 was raised, which was divided equally between the four charities.
- ‘It’s a Knockout’ event was a great success with lots of local businesses and organisations taking part to raise much-needed funds for the four charities
- 'Bail Out' - annual event established - this time in the Newark Castle grounds! Over £4000 raised in total.
- Christmas Charity Market - a great day to raise the profile of all four charities, despite the chill!
