News and Events

Think Children are thrilled at the news that local Olympic star Shona McCallin MBE will be joining the charity as our new patron. All staff and trustees are really looking forward to working with former Newark Hockey Club player Shona, who was awarded an MBE in December for services to hockey after winning gold at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro last summer. Shona's support for the charity and involvement in events will be a huge boost to raising the profile of the charity and the fantastic work it does with local children needing early help with emotional wellbeing issues.

Think Children’s service for local children received a much-needed boost in the last month from two community fundraising events. A Boots No.7 beauty evening and quiz held at Newark RAFA club on June 16th and a cake sale at Barclays on June 24th raised a combined total of £818. We are so grateful to the RAFA Club who organised our quiz evening, the fantastic beauty session run by staff from Boots Newark, staff at Barclays, the deputy mayor of Newark, Mr Martyn Cleasby, who came along to offer his support and the general public for their generous donations.
