New Year Support From The Local Community

Think Children had a really positive start to the New Year, receiving generous donations from not one but two local community organisations in one day. A Christmas Tree Charity Appeal held by the Farndon Residents Environment Group raised £974.40 for the children’s charity and also £296 was raised at a Carols On The Green evening on December 19th, also in Farndon, organised by a group from the village’s St Peter’s church and Farndon Residents Environment Group.  Think Children offers an early intervention service for local children who may be struggling to cope with emerging emotional, social and/or behavioural issues. One to one sessions with a specially trained worker aim to build self-esteem, emotional resilience and coping skills before issues escalate, potentially becoming harder and more costly to resolve. Sarah Habermass, of Think Children said, “Staff at Think Children were absolutely delighted to receive two donations totalling £1,270.40 to kick start the New Year. We are extremely grateful to both the Farndon Residents Environment Group, St Peter’s church and the local community for these very generous donations.   Community fundraising activities like this and the generosity of the local community mean, despite current funding cuts to the sector, we cancontinue to reach more local children who are struggling to cope with emotional issues that may be due to circumstances such as parental separation, bullying, bereavement, loss, low self-esteem and domestic violence among many others. help as many local children in need as possible.  We’d like to convey our sincere thanks to both organisations for all their hard work and support.” For further information, please contact 01636 676887
